Welcome to Future Faculty at SLU

Future faculty is an organization for young scientists e.i. postdocs, assistant professors and researchers at the junior level working at SLU. We organize seminars, workshops and courses and are the voice of all junior scientists in relation to the NL-faculty board. If you wish to get involved please contact our chair person: Anna Lundhagen

Up coming activities

Future Faculty work shop.

Future Faculty has now been operating in more than two years. During this time we have arranged seminars, courses and other activities directed towards career development of young scientist at the NL-faculty and SLU. In early spring we are planning a workshop to direct the FF activities during the coming years. Please look out for an upcoming invitation and don’t hesitate in contacting the FF steering committee if you have thoughts about what FF should do in the future.

Recent activities

Seminar on LAS

On November the 9th, 2009, Future Faculty and SULF arranged a seminar on how LAS (Lagen om anställningsskydd eng. Swedish Employment Security Act) affect young scientist´s possibilities to pursue a scientific career. Invited speakers were: Kristina Glimelius, Dean of the NL faculty, Robert Andersson, Union representative from SULF and Elisabeth Askebro-Hansson, Head of SLU’s personnel department.

Information about FORMAS annual call 2009

On the 8th and 16th of April we organized seminars about FORMAS new organisation. Invited speakers were professor Barbara Ekbom from the scientific council at FORMAS (8th) and PhD Johanna Dernfalk, Senior Research Advisor at FORMAS (16th). Both gave information about the new organization for evaluation of research proposals

During the autumn and winter 2008-2009 we organized a seminar serie on the subject “How to become an independent researcher - tools and advices”

The serie included the following seminars:

On the 16th of March 2009 we organized a course in Personal Planning

The course included:
· Planning what to do through goals
· Planning a way to take control over oneself
· How to manage your own time
· How to influence ones own behaviour
· How to influence other through communication
· How to handle stress
· What shall I do, my own personal plan

The course was organized by Rolf Olofsson Organisationsutveckling AB and Future Faculty.
